QUESTIONS BEFORE YOUR VISIT?
Frequently asked questions about Francey Vins, Saint-Saphorin wines and visits to the estate
What grape varieties do you grow?
We primarily cultivate Chasselas, Lavaux's traditional white grape variety, on our 3 hectares in Saint-Saphorin. We also cultivate special varieties, including Chardonnay, Doral, and Diolinoir, for our premium cuvées.
What is the difference between your Chasselas wines?
Each of our Chasselas wines comes from a specific vineyard plot with unique characteristics. "Les Fosses" and "Burignon" originate from the Saint-Saphorin AOC, while "Cybele" comes from Villette. "Adonis" is our premium Chasselas selection. The soil, exposure, and microclimate of each plot impart a distinct personality to the wines.
How should I store your wines?
Store bottles horizontally in a cool (10-15C), dark place with a constant temperature. Our white wines are best enjoyed within 2-3 years, although our Old Chasselas can age longer. Red wines like Artemis can be cellared for 5-8 years. Serve whites at 8-10C and reds at 14-16C.
Do you offer wine tastings?
Yes. We are certified by Vaud Œnotourisme and welcome groups of 6 to 30 people for cellar tours and tastings. Available Monday to Saturday in French. Contact us to book your visit.
What are discovery packs?
Our discovery boxes are personalized selections that highlight the diversity of our Chasselas wines. The 6-bottle box (CHF 100) and the 12-bottle box (CHF 190) include wines from different plots, allowing you to explore the nuances of our terroir.
